Explosion at THC Extraction Facility Kills 2

On Thursday, a deadly explosion at the Morrow Gill business complex in Sand Springs killed two people, with the Sand Springs Police Department responding around 1:30 a.m.
Because THC extraction often involves hazardous chemicals like butane, Todd Enzbrenner, deputy chief of the Sand Springs Police Department, said investigators are reviewing the facility's license status.
The blast damaged at least 25 nearby businesses, blowing out roofs and caving in walls, while first responders saved one survivor from the rubble: a pet rabbit.
Authorities are treating the complex as a potential crime scene to ensure legal compliance, while a majority of businesses in the strip will not be able to reopen soon due to extensive damage.
Donovan Ruffin, who lives a mile away, initially mistook the blast for a thunderstorm around 1:20 a.m., while the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority works with law enforcement to determine if licensed shops were involved.
