Fluxnium seeks to resolve dependence on uranium mines with polymer fibers installed in the ocean, a bet that could take advantage of estimated reserves of billions of tons and reduce geopolitical risks, although it still has to demonstrate that its process is competitive on a commercial scale.
The Fluxnium startup attracted $7 million in a seed round for uranium extraction technology from seawater and says it reduced process costs.
