- Of the 55 reported illnesses, 46 involved STEC, seven involved Salmonella, and two patients contracted both pathogens; recalled products include 5-ounce containers from lots 222, 223, 225, 226, and 230.
- Consumers, retailers, and food-service operators should dispose of recalled items "immediately" and sanitize containers and refrigerators to reduce cross-contamination risks, federal officials advised.
