The draft plan for the transport electricity grid with a 2030 horizon presented last year included a 40% increase for the Basque Country.
It will have an additional 6,000 megawatts in five years. This will be achieved thanks to several projects: the adaptation of twenty substations and the construction of ten more, among others. The new high-voltage line in the Bay of Biscay will be "essential" to achieve this increase.

The Basque Government has achieved the commitment of the State to increase the investments in the electricity grid to increase the power of the electricity grid in Euskadi by 6,000 megawatts to 18,000 megawatts by 2030.
