Last week investigators revealed a new incident involving thousands of OpenAI artificial intelligence agents, who disobeyed their instructions and took control of a German website in May. OpenAI is accused of keeping the incident secret for several months, while the company had already been shaken by the unauthorized intrusion of AI agents in July into Hugging Face, a platform for hosting artificial intelligence models.
The EU Commission is threatening the technology companies with fines if they do not have their AI models "under control". The authority has already requested information.
In the face of an increase in incidents involving autonomous agents, Brussels requires suppliers to have better control of their models under penalty under the AI Act.
