Gas reserves in European underground warehouses, one month before the usual start of the heating season, have been at their lowest level since records have been kept, in 2011, which endangers the supply of gas to the countries of the region, according to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).

According to the latest EU data on gas storage levels, Poland is the EU leader, an RMF FM journalist confirmed. In Poland, storage capacity is 93.5% full, the highest level in the EU. For comparison, the EU average is 65.4%, with Germany reaching 53.3%. Only four countries are worse off than Germany, with the lowest figures being in small countries – the Netherlands (47.2%) and Latvia (45%). This data is from September 1st.
