The European Union member states on Thursday finally approved stricter rules for returning migrants who are staying in the union illegally. The new regulation will allow the establishment of return centers in countries outside the EU and is intended to speed up and streamline the returns of people without the right to reside. It complements the EU's migration and asylum pact.
The EU introduces a common system for the return of persons without a right of residence, a European Return Order and the possibility of centres outside the borders of the Union.
