The EU Council supported the European Commission ' s proposed bill that would allow Armenia to import goods to the EU without paying customs duties. The text of the amendments has been posted on an official website. The European Parliament must now vote on the draft. Only advalorary charges (ad valorem import duties) are to be abolished. If the measure is taken, two years will be available.
MEPs from the European Parliament's Committee on International Trade today supported the temporary withdrawal of customs duties on certain Armenian products, a measure to help Armenia compensate for trade restrictions imposed by Russia.
Provisional trade measures will be in effect for two years after the entry into force of the regulations
