President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made his first statement regarding the pistols gifted to the leaders attending the NATO Summit. Stating that the MKE-produced weapons were presented to the leaders to showcase Turkey's defense industry capabilities, Erdoğan said, "We wanted to present our work to them. As the saying goes, 'When a donkey dies, its saddle remains; when a person dies, their legacy remains.'"
President Erdoğan spoke about the gifting of weapons produced by the Turkish Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation to world leaders at the NATO Summit. Stating that the leaders were pleased with the gifts, Erdoğan said, "They were happy."
