Authorities say at least six people have died after a catamaran-style ferry carrying 267 passengers and crew capsized off the coast of northern Cyprus. The Turkish ambassador to Nicosia said 172 people had been rescued, with some taken to hospital, while 89 remain missing. The death toll has since risen to seven, according to the latest figures. The Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ünal Üstel, announced the deaths of at least eight people. Rescue teams are reportedly trying to reach 22 people trapped in the capsized ferry.
