- Sable expects to reach 50,000 barrels per day by April 1, increasing California's domestic oil supply by approximately 17%. The company reported 540,000 barrels of processed crude in storage as of this past weekend.
- On Saturday, California State Parks demanded Sable "immediately remove the pipeline" from Gaviota State Park, denying the company's easement application. Governor Gavin Newsom vowed California will challenge the restart, alleging the administration is "defying multiple court orders."
- The Trump administration claims the project is essential for national security amid foreign oil dependency concerns. The Center for Biological Diversity countered that invoking the Defense Production Act for "an oil company that has repeatedly broken the law" represents "a shocking development.
