Warnings of energy shock, stagflationary pressures and limited fiscal space in the Eurozone
Measures taken to mitigate the consequences of the energy crisis must be in line with Europe’s long-term strategic goals, said Eurogroup Chairman Kyriakos Pierrakakis. “We must not look for a short-term solution,” he said before the start of the meeting with the finance ministers of the eurozone countries. “For this, we need more Europe. That is why this is the moment of truth for Europe.”
The president of the Eurogroup, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, said on Monday that the measures already implemented by the different countries of the European Union to alleviate the effects of the energy crisis must be well designed based on the fiscal balance of each member state and has indicated that they must be temporary.
