- Authorities recorded nearly 25,000 illegal crossing attempts at the Polish-Belarusian border, detained 2,400 people at the Polish-German border including almost 550 from Belarus, and detained around 500 third-country nationals plus around 60 smugglers at the Polish-Lithuanian border this year.
- The interior ministry told Reuters the extension will take effect on October 5 and remain for 18 months, marking a significant deviation from Schengen free movement.
