Emmerdale and Corrie set for fresh schedule shakeup next week - see what's changing
ITV will keep the soaps on air in longer episodes on two nights while football coverage pre-empts other slots, with 2.5 hours each this week.
ITV's World Cup coverage is forcing schedule adjustments for Emmerdale and Coronation Street next week, though viewers will still receive their full two-and-a-half hours of each soap.
Monday will see hour-long episodes for Emmerdale and Corrie at 8pm and 9pm, while Tuesday episodes shift to 9pm and 9:30pm due to the Portugal and Uzbekistan match.
Neither soap airs Wednesday or Friday due to football matches, but Thursday features extended hour-long episodes for both shows starting at 8pm.
Emmerdale fans will see Pippa Fulton return to the Dales after nine years as a new villainous character named Kylie, who abducts Lewis Barton.
Kylie abducts Lewis while he travels to the airport, sending a ransom demand to his brother Ross Barton that requires returning 'Penny' to secure release.
