Ellie Goulding Sues Ex-Managers Over Alleged Conflict of Interest
The singer alleges her managers hid Live Nation’s control of TaP’s parent company and seeks damages for breaches of fiduciary duty.
British singer Ellie Goulding filed a lawsuit against former managers Ben Mawson and Ed Millet of TaP Management, alleging they failed to disclose that the firm's parent company, HNOE, was owned by Live Nation.
Goulding claims she was unaware that Live Nation acquired a majority stake in HNOE in 2015 and fully purchased the company in 2019, with the ownership arrangement allegedly influencing her managers' business decisions.
Mawson and Millet managed Goulding from 2018 through 2025, taking a 20% commission, while being contractually 'restrained' from activity that might 'terminate or otherwise reduce or diminish' her business relationship with Live Nation.
Goulding seeks 'equitable compensation and/or damages for their breaches of fiduciary duty' and has returned to Sarah Stennett for management and WME for representation; reps for Mawson and TaP did not return requests for comment on Monday.
The lawsuit precedes the September 4 release of Goulding's sixth studio album, *I Know Too Much*, as the management firm's roster has shrunk from 23 to 12 artists, with Caroline Polachek and Mabel among departing clients.
British singer Ellie Goulding has sued her former managers for a conflict of interest. The company under which managers Ben Mawson and Ed Millett operated was allegedly largely owned by Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, among others.
