Electricity Emits Less and Less Co2 in Europe

The European Commission's latest report on the Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) confirms a decrease in emissions from the electricity sector. Brussels notes that in 2024, emissions from power plants covered by EU ETS have fallen by almost 11% compared to 2023. It has therefore become a habit: since 2005, combined emissions from the electricity sector and heat production have fallen by around 50%.
