In the Rhineland-Palatinate state election, the Christian Democrats have, according to projections, won just over 30% of the vote. They are clearly ahead of the Social Democrats and look set to provide the next state premier.
Alice Weidel, who spoke at CPAC in Budapest over the weekend, saw her party grow from 8 percent in 2021 to 20 percent in the provincial election.
Almost 20 percent: In Rhineland-Palatinate, the AfD achieves its desired result and celebrates it. Nevertheless, it is obvious that the party hits a glass ceiling.
The AfD is likely to achieve its best result in western Germany in Rhineland-Palatinate. In the state parliament, it is now given a parliamentary right that has not been achieved there. For each constituency, the party has a special plan.
