MN Secretary of State: Hidden Camera Vouching 'Investigation' Now Faces Its Own Investigation
James O'Keefe's team says the state allows one registered voter to vouch for up to 8 people without ID.
On Thursday, JamesOKeefeIII and Cam Higby conducted an undercover operation in Minnesota to expose the state's election vouching system, filming their attempt to cast ballots without identification.
Minnesota law currently permits one registered voter to vouch for up to 8 unregistered persons at polling locations, eliminating requirements for traditional identification or proof of residence.
At the poll, a bystander told the investigators, "Don't worry, I'll vouch for you guys," despite the pair lacking proof of residence or Minnesota identification.
Critics describe the system as a "constitutional crisis" enabling voter fraud, while supporters contend the process removes barriers to voting that liberals have long defended.
Previous rules permitted one person to vouch for 50 voters; the current limit of 8 represents a significant reduction in unregistered individuals allowed per voucher.
