The free movement of people and goods remains one of the foundations of West African integration. In Noépé-Akanu, ECOWAS brought together actors from the Abidjan-Lagos corridor to discuss the obstacles to free movement and cross-border trade. Harmonisation of procedures, digitalisation, joint border crossings, protection of women traders and promotion of Community instruments are at the heart of the way forward to transform this strategic corridor into a real engine of regional integration.
