The economy generated a surplus of 262 million euros, or 1.5 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), in transactions with foreign countries in the second quarter of this year. The general government sector, meanwhile, generated a deficit of 512 million euros, or 2.9 percent of GDP, the Statistical Office announced today.
