On 1 January, Smic is indexed to inflation for the poorest 20 per cent of households.
This increase will raise the minimum wage to 1,823.03 euros gross per month and 12,02 euros gross per hour. A decision that "endows workers in precarious conditions", deplored the CGT on Friday.
The Director General of Labour announced this increase to the social partners at the meeting of the National Collective Bargaining Commission on Smic.
On 1 January 2026, the Smic will be automatically upgraded by 1.18%, with no additional boost. The minimum wage will reach 1,823.03 euros gross per month, slightly below the 1.4% recommended by the experts.
On 1 January, the minimum wage will be €1,823.03 gross, or €12.02 gross per hour. An increase without a boost equivalent to an increase of 1.18%.
