ECB interest rate decision on Thursday: Experts expect a further interest rate step. Read here what the forecast for daily money, fixed money, shares and construction interest rates means.
The ECB is once again at the centre of every eye after the return of the summer holidays. Most financial market experts agree that the Executive Board of the European Central Bank (ECB) will raise interest rates to 2.5% at its meeting on Thursday in the face of rising inflation expectations. Likewise, they do not rule out another possible increase in the reference rate before the end of the year.
The European Central Bank appears to be close to a second increase in euro interest rates by 25 basis points, as the escalation of tension in the Persian Gulf portends a continued strengthening of Eurozone inflation, above the 3.3% reached in August. The so-called "hawks" will play a role in the Monetary Policy Council's decision, led by German central banker Joachim Nagel, who "predicted" the increase last Wednesday.
