Consumers predicted inflation in the euro area in August in the next 12 months of 3%, compared to 2.9% of the previous July survey, according to the sample that the European Central Bank (ECB) made in August and which was published today.
Average expectations for price growth over the next 12 months in the euro area rose to 3% in August 2026, before 2.9% in July, while projections for inflation over a three-year horizon also advanced, from 2.7% to 2.9%, and the outlook for five years rose from 2.4% to 2.5%.
