The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced today that it is investing up to 64 million euros in AikGroup, one of the fast-growing banking groups in Southeast Europe, which will acquire a five percent ownership stake in this group.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has acquired a 5% stake in Aik Group, the group's parent company, of which Gorenjska banka is a part, by purchasing newly issued shares worth up to EUR 64 million. The largest owner of AIK Group, based in Cyprus, is also the Cypriot Agri Holding, which is managed by Aleksandar Kostic.
As stated, the EBRD is taking a five percent stake in this regional banking group, thereby strengthening corporate governance and supporting regional expansion.
