Eat local: Vashon growers push for a stronger food system

On a weekday morning at Gracie’s Greens, Zoe Marzluff can be seen tending tomatoes or hauling wheelbarrows of compost across the farm’s half-acre. It’s the kind of hand labor that defines the small, no-till operation she started in a garage in 2018. By Saturday, some of it will be at her farmstand or around Vashon, sold to customers who know whose hands grew it.
