EastEnders star shuts down rumours of return after 20 years labelling it 'fake news'
Kacey Ainsworth said fan hopes for a Little Mo comeback are fake news, ending speculation that the Slater family would reunite at the funeral.
Former EastEnders star Kacey Ainsworth has shut down speculation regarding a return to the BBC soap, labelling the rumors "fake news" on Instagram.
Rumors of a comeback circulated following reports that Zoe, played by Michelle Ryan, is set to be killed off, prompting fans to hope for a Slater family reunion.
Ainsworth played Little Mo from 2000 to 2006, earning a National Television Award for Most Popular Actress and two British Soap Awards for Best Actress.
Fellow cast members and viewers expressed disappointment regarding the confirmation, with Lauren Branning actress Jacqueline Osborne writing she would "give anything for this to be true."
While Ainsworth won't return, the soap is introducing new characters to the cast, including actor Christopher Colquhoun as Darnell Larson, the newly discovered half-brother of Denise Fox.
