Popular EastEnders Set to Leave Soap After 4 Years to Take on New Projects
The actor is said to be leaving to pursue new projects and will remain on the soap until the end of the year, The Sun reported.
EastEnders star Aaron Thiara is reportedly set to leave the BBC soap after four years in the role of Ravi Gulati, though he will remain on set until the end of the year to complete ongoing storylines.
Since arriving in 2022, Ravi Gulati has been central to dramatic plots, including discovering his biological link to Nish Panesar and killing Ranveer Gulati in self-defence.
Much of 2026 has focused on Ravi's mental health and PTSD storyline. Thiara urged viewers to "see the person" and "not the villain" amid fan backlash over his character's actions toward Harry Mitchell , with EastEnders working alongside charity Samaritans.
The reported departure follows the confirmed future exit of Kellie Bright, another established cast member. Sources indicate Thiara aims to explore new professional opportunities, though EastEnders declined to comment on the reports.
During his tenure, Thiara earned significant industry recognition, winning Villain of the Year at the 2023 British Soap Awards and receiving a nomination for Serial Drama Performance at the National Television Awards.
