EastEnders sent a 'huge blow' as popular actor to leave BBC soap in 2027
The 26-year-old actor joined in 2025 and his exit follows recent departures by Kellie Bright, Aaron Thiara and Michelle Ryan.
EastEnders star Pierre Counihan-Moullier is set to leave the BBC soap in 2027. The 26-year-old actor, who plays Oscar Branning, joined the show in 2025 under boss Ben Wadey.
Recent exits include actress Kellie Bright, who played Linda Carter for 13 years, following departures by Ravi Gulati star Aaron Thiara and Michelle Ryan's Zoe Slater.
Announcing her departure, Bright said, "Now is the right time for me to say goodbye." Linda Carter is the matriarch of the Carter family and has four children with her husband Mick, played by Danny Dyer.
Lee and Nancy Carter will return to Albert Square this autumn for a storyline marking Linda's final months. Wadey said, "I guarantee your jaws will drop when you see the first cliff-hanger."
Everyone is now hoping the rest of the cast will remain stable as the show prepares for the siblings' dramatic return to Walford. The departures signal an unsettled period for the long-running soap.
