European pump prices hit records as Iran war escalation drives oil higher
Petrol prices hit records in Germany and the Netherlands and European gas futures reached a three-year high, as the Iran-US war escalation drove oil higher, landing the Gulf conflict directly on European household budgets.

The average daily price of gasoline in Germany reached 2.215 euros per liter on Wednesday, surpassing the previous record of 2.203 euros from March 2022, the German automobile association Adac said. The fuel price has now exceeded the old record from the beginning of the Ukraine war. Diesel is even more expensive.
