Several people were arrested during disturbances at the Malieveld in The Hague on Wednesday. The police stated that a water cannon and pepper spray were deployed.
A demonstration at the Malieveld on Wednesday afternoon escalated into riots against the police. The riots followed the ruling by the Kosovo Tribunal against former President Hashim Thaçi. Thaçi was sentenced by this special tribunal to 25 years in prison for war crimes.
