Hamilton Explains Dutch GP Radio Outburst over Ferrari Team Orders
Hamilton said Ferrari’s delayed team orders cost him time and a possible podium, as Mercedes used a quicker swap to help its drivers.
On Sunday, Lewis Hamilton finished fourth at the Dutch Grand Prix, publicly criticizing Ferrari for failing to utilize team orders that could have secured him a podium spot.
After catching Charles Leclerc on lap 40, Hamilton repeatedly requested position swaps over the radio, telling the team, "I'm quicker than Charles. We're losing time!"
Hamilton lost crucial time before Leclerc pitted on lap 43, ultimately finishing behind Mercedes' George Russell, who secured third place.
Comparing the team's efficiency to Mercedes, Hamilton said that "to win championships you have to pick up every possible point," expressing frustration over the missed podium.
In two weeks, Hamilton heads to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, where he trails championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 59 points with 11 rounds remaining.
