Four people are suspected of embezzling more than UAH 37.7 million in budget funds during the construction of fortifications in Sumy region. Investigators documented five instances of alleged misappropriation of funds through inflated costs of materials, work, and delivery.
Figurants overestimated the cost of the materials and the volume of the work, as well as their fraudulent performance reports, and some of the budget received were returned to officials in the form of "rejections".
The scheme, according to the investigation, involved a Lviv Regional State Administration official, a technical supervision specialist and two contractor representatives
