Two Former Employees Accused of Defrauding Ajax Soccer Club of $650,000: Police
Police allege the two former executives transferred club funds into multiple accounts over two years, prompting fraud, laundering and breach of trust charges.
- Durham Regional Police charged two former Ajax Soccer Club officials on Tuesday with defrauding the organization of more than $650,000, alleging funds were diverted from league accounts between 2023 and 2024.
- Investigators launched the probe in December 2024 after receiving reports of irregularities found in banking transactions for the Ajax Soccer Club, prompting a comprehensive financial review.
- Police charged former executive director Vicki Scott of Whitby and former general manager Richard Karikari of Ajax with fraud over $5,000, laundering proceeds of crime, and breach of trust.
- Ajax Soccer Club confirmed that the accused have not been affiliated with the organization since 2024, with the club now operating under an entirely new Board of Directors and executive team.
- As the matter is now before the courts, the club has declined further comment, while police continue requesting information through Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS .
