Ducks beat Golden Knights 3-1 to tie second-round series 1-1
On Wednesday, the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-1, evening their second-round Stanley Cup playoff series at 1-1.
Vegas entered Game 2 as heavy favorites at T-Mobile Arena, but the Ducks controlled play and swarmed the Golden Knights throughout the contest.
Beckett Sennecke, Leo Carlsson, and Jansen Harkins scored for Anaheim, while goaltender Lukas Dostal stopped 23 shots, coming within seconds of his first career playoff shutout.
Despite a late goal from captain Mark Stone to deny the shutout, the Golden Knights struggled with poor passing and puck handling throughout the contest.
The series now shifts to Honda Center in Anaheim for Game 3 on Friday, with the Ducks positioned to build momentum in the best-of-seven playoff series.
Anaheim erased the Golden Knights' lead with an away win, while the Sabres opened the Eastern Conference semifinals with a strong performance against Montreal.
