Drones are increasingly being used in France to smuggle drugs, phones and other contraband into prisons. At a prison in Villefranche-sur-Saône, investigators estimate that 1,826 deliveries were made in less than two months, delivering more than 30 kilograms of drugs to inmates. The phenomenon has become so widespread that in Strasbourg, drones used for clandestine deliveries are even disrupting medical helicopter flights.
