Driver 'shouldn't be here' after crash with plane in B.C. speared rod through seat
Transportation Safety Board investigators are probing why the Beech King Air 200 landed on a road and struck two vehicles, leaving one driver dead.
On Aug 21, 2026, a Beech King Air made an emergency landing on Foothills Boulevard in Prince George, striking two vehicles as it descended onto the road.
Witnesses described the aircraft as "speeding right towards us" before it crushed an SUV roof during its silent, emergency descent.
Jaime Pawliuk, who drove the struck vehicle, suffered only minor cuts when a metal rod pierced his Ford SUV roof, later noting he "shouldn't be here."
Police confirmed that the driver of the second vehicle struck by the plane died in the crash, marking the incident's fatal toll.
The Transportation Safety Board has deployed a team to investigate the wreckage and determine what forced the Beech King Air onto the roadway.
