DoorDash introduces fee-free restaurant reservations and autonomous robot deliveries to enhance customer options and boost merchant growth across key U.S. cities.
- DoorDash announced Tuesday it will add restaurant reservations and robot deliveries in select U.S. markets during its Dash Forward event.
- Following a $1.2 billion acquisition, DoorDash integrated SevenRooms to enable bookings and deepen relationships with merchant partners, the company said.
- Designed for suburban routes, Dot is DoorDash's autonomous delivery robot that travels on streets, sidewalks and driveways at 20 miles per hour and is tested in the Phoenix, Ariz. metro area.
- DashPass members will receive new in-app perks like booking tables and $15 in DoorDash credits for repeat visits, while restaurants gain enriched guest profiles and fee-free reservations, the company said Tuesday.
- Reservations start in New York and Miami, with other cities added later this year, and DoorDash plans Dot expansion as part of its multi-product business strategy.
