Miami Dolphins, Thin at Edge, Could Be Minus Chop Robinson vs. 49ers
Miami will lean on Josh Uche and other backups after Robinson sustained a concussion in practice, leaving the team thin at edge rusher.
On Friday, Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley ruled edge rusher Chop Robinson out for Sunday's Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a concussion sustained at practice this week.
Robinson appeared on the injury report as limited in Wednesday's practice in Napa, California, before being held out of practice entirely on Thursday, following two concussions he suffered last season.
This pivotal third-year season follows a 2025 campaign where Robinson managed just four sacks, prompting him to add 11 pounds and reach 265 in an effort to improve performance.
Without Robinson, the Dolphins will turn to veteran Josh Uche and second-year defensive tackle Zeek Biggers, with Hafley stating, "They've done a nice job in practice this week and it'll be the next man up."
In Week 2, the Dolphins pass rushers will chase 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, who posted a 105.6 passer rating, potentially prompting coach Hafley to send linebacker Jordyn Brooks on blitzes.
