Electric Balloon Pumps Sold at Dollar Tree Recalled over Overheating, Explosion Risk
The pumps can overheat and cause burns, and Dollar Tree has received three reports of overheating, including one fire and one explosion.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday a recall of 360,500 electric balloon pumps sold at Dollar Tree because the pumps can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
Dollar Tree has received three reports of the pumps overheating, including one incident with flames inside the unit and another where the device exploded.
Customers can identify the recalled pink plastic pumps by model number 406198 printed on a silver rating label at the bottom and on packaging. The items sold for about $17 between August 2025 and July 2026.
While no injuries have been reported, consumers are urged to stop using the pumps immediately and return them to any Dollar Tree location for a full refund.
