- Priceville Police terminated Garry Chapman, a Priceville police officer, and Priceville Police Chief Jerry Holmes confirmed Chapman is no longer with the department.
- Police attempted to stop a car for moving violations and suspected DUI on Interstate 65 near mile marker 329, but the driver, Archie Hale, 33-year-old suspect, refused to pull over, sparking a pursuit.
- Just minutes later, around 8:30 p.m., the pursuit ended in a crash on Main Street near Highway 31 that launched a vehicle and killed 17-year-old Tristan Hollis, sending six people to hospitals.
- Chapman's attorney Scott Morro said he will appeal and a city council hearing on October 13 will allow Chapman to contest the department's action, while Priceville officials declined to comment.
- Garry Chapman is the youngest son of Duane Chapman, 'Dog the Bounty Hunter', and his attorney says the suspect was impaired by fentanyl while Archie Hale faces murder and other charges.

The son of a TV star on administrative leave after a police chase ended in the death of a teenager in Hartselle has been fired, WAFF reports.The city of Priceville put officer Garry Chapman on administrative leave on Sept. 7, after a police car chase a day earlier ended in a fatal crash in the nearby city of Hartselle, killing a high schooler, Tristan Hollis, 17, and injuring three other people in a minivan with him.
