DIW raises German economic growth forecasts as exports beat expectations
According to the Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (German Institute for Economic Research), economic prospects have improved significantly within a few months. Although growth is expected to be much higher in the next two years, the overall level is still modest.
The German economy will grow by 1.2 percent this year, the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) said in its autumn outlook on Wednesday. It improved its summer forecast, which had predicted growth of 0.5 percent. According to the DIW, the German economy has proven to be more resilient than initially thought.
