A Canadian family is heartbroken and angry after the death of a 26-year-old diabetic blind man in a doctor-assisted suicide. Margaret Marsilla managed to prevent her son Kiano Vafaeian from dying thanks to Canada’s medically assisted death program in 2022. She noted that Vafaeian did not suffer from terminal illness. He was simply blind and suffered type 1 diabetes-related complications as well as mental health problems.
