- On Tuesday, Jeff Williams was nominated to join The Walt Disney Company board and will stand for election as an independent director at the 2026 annual meeting.
- Williams retired earlier this year after serving as Chief Operating Officer, Apple, overseeing Apple's design and global supply chain teams and leading the Apple Watch and health and fitness strategy.
- Williams joined Apple in 1998 as head of worldwide procurement, helped launch the first iPhone in 2007, and was promoted to vice president of operations in 2004 and COO in December of 2015 after roles at International Business Machines Corporation.
- Shareholders will vote next spring on Williams's election and the re-election of the ten existing directors as Disney's board faces scrutiny while finalizing CEO Bob Iger's succession plan and expects to announce a successor in early 2026.
