The Aerosmith-themed ride closes after 25 years as Disney rethemes it with the Electric Mayhem band, aiming for a summer 2026 reopening, Disney confirmed.
- On Friday, Walt Disney World confirmed the Aerosmith version's final operating day at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be March 1, warning fans they have limited time to ride.
- Disney first announced in November 2024 that it would retheme Rock 'n' Roller Coaster to feature the Electric Mayhem while keeping the original thrilling layout as part of a Hollywood Studios reshuffle.
- Designers say the retheme will include audio-animatronic Scooter, Animal, and Dr. Teeth, a psychedelic redesign of the attraction's giant guitar with a golden key, and preserve the limousine concept with three inversions at 57 mph.
- Disney has removed prerecorded Aerosmith queue elements and pre-show walls now cover the area as construction crews reimagine the space with nearby work underway in the Monsters area.
- The park is adding a Monstropolis Monsters, Inc. land with a suspended coaster and new theater show, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is set to open Summer 2026.
