The 41-year-old man, suspected of killing his companion Manon Relandeau, was taken into custody this Wednesday in Algeria. He had left French territory on 2 April with their 15-month-old baby.
Targeted by an investigation in Nantes for murder and abduction after the disappearance more than a month ago of the young mother, the quadrennial had been arrested last week in her home country.
Manon Relandeau's spouse, a young mother in the Nantes region who had been missing for more than a month, was placed in pre-trial detention in Algeria.
The main suspect in the disappearance of the 31-year-old farmer was imprisoned by the Algerian authorities at the end of her police custody. He had left French territory for the country of which he was a national, on 2 April, with their 15-month-old baby.
