UNICEF data revealed that perpetrators of online abuse are often not strangers to children; in 57 percent of cases, the perpetrator was previously recognized by the victim. The study also found that 41 percent of children did not share their abuse with anyone, while UNICEF called for stronger security and reporting mechanisms on digital platforms.
