What initially looked like a medical emergency triggered a large-scale operation in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Mercury was apparently discovered in a DHL logistics centre in Leizen. Several packages were said to be contaminated, and numerous employees had to leave the building.
A parcel delivery company reported physical complaints – then the parcel center was cleared. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern there was a suspected mercury poisoning. Only recently there was a similar case in the federal state.
Presumably mercury-loaded packages have triggered a large-scale deployment in a DHL logistics center in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Investigators are now checking whether further hazardous shipments are in circulation.
Due to the suspicion of the neurotoxicity mercury in the district Mecklenburgische Seenplatte special forces are moving to a DHL logistics center. More than 20 employees are brought to safety because a woman complains about poisoning symptoms.
