Gov. DeWine Declares State of Emergency for some Miami Valley Counties Following Flooding

- Vinton County Sheriff Ryan Cain evacuated 60 people as water raced rapidly, leaving some stranded. Pastor James Dimel of Renovate Life Church reported about 4 feet of water inside his building, where 50 volunteers worked on cleanup.
- State agencies including the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are assisting local authorities as officials wait for floodwaters to subside to assess damage to roadways and structures.
- Assessments continue as the state works closely with local officials to provide recovery resources. Cain urged residents to avoid flood zones, warning, "We don't want that number growing by people being out, just wanting to check on the water.
