Gurmeet Ram Rahim Gets 21-Day Furlough
The convicted Dera Sacha Sauda leader will remain at his Sirsa headquarters during his 17th temporary release from jail since 2017.
Controversial Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been granted a 21-day furlough, marking his 17th temporary release from jail since his conviction.
The Dera chief is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for the rape of two women disciples, a conviction dating to August 2017.
Ram Rahim will stay at his Sirsa-headquartered Dera during the furlough period after departing Sunaria jail in Rohtak, Haryana.
Authorities previously granted Ram Rahim a 30-day parole in May and a 40-day parole in January of this year.
This event marks the 17th time Ram Rahim has departed prison since his August 2017 conviction, demonstrating a pattern of frequent temporary releases.
