Deliveroo Launches New Restaurant Table Booking Service for Londoners
The feature uses SevenRooms technology and will start at hundreds of London restaurants as Deliveroo seeks growth beyond takeaway delivery.
- On Thursday, Deliveroo launched Deliveroo Reservations in London, allowing customers to book tables directly through the app at prominent eateries including Dishoom, Dove, Hide, Kricket, Barrafina, and Kolae.
- The launch follows Deliveroo's acquisition by US-based DoorDash last year and integrates technology from SevenRooms, a restaurant booking platform that DoorDash purchased for approximately £900 million.
- Suzy McClintock, vice president for consumer and new verticals at Deliveroo, said the launch is "about supporting restaurants to grow in new ways" and aims to "drive discovery, demand and revenue across every channel."
- Joel Montaniel, vice president and co-founder of SevenRooms, stated the integration "gives London restaurants a new way to connect with diners and grow," positioning the platform as a one-stop shop for dining and takeaway.
- Deliveroo plans to expand the service across the country later this year, following DoorDash's similar expansion into restaurant bookings in the United States late last year.
